The Operations Division is comprised of four shifts, which are supervised by a Shift Supervisor and Relief Shift Supervisor who oversee the daily operations.

Police and security officers with the Lexington Medical Center Department of Public Safety patrol the campus 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which includes the Emergency department, hospital floors, parking lots and satellite offices. Public Safety officers provide various services that include, but are not limited to, responding to calls for service, apprehending criminal suspects, writing reports, parking lot enforcement, emergency call boxes, escort, motor vehicle assistance, conducting investigations and various law enforcement services. Police and security officers patrol on foot, bicycles, golf carts and vehicles.
